Getting ready to upload
Selecting the photo
If you've taken a good group photo at a business event, reunion or game, friends and family of those pictured will enjoy sharing the moment!
You'll get the best results for your 'smart' photo if you consider
these points when selecting and preparing the photo for upload.
- Choose a photo that clearly shows the faces of all group members
at approximately the same size and spacing. This system will establish 'click zones' around the faces of your group in order to display the individual names and other information. If the zones overlap, viewers may find it difficult to
select individual members.
- Crop the photo to discard background clutter. Most digital cameras
include photo editing software which will allow you to modify the image
before upload. Use the cropping feature to trim your photo so that the frame
is mostly filled with the people in the group.
- Understand the size of the photo you upload. The system will reduce your photo for display to a maximum width of 800 pixels so that those with lesser screen resolution will see an acceptable picture. If you wish to display a smaller photo, you must reduce the photo prior to upload. Photos less than 800 pixels will not be compressed by this service. Make sure you have compressed the image before upload.
- Be aware of the limits. Our system can create a maximum of 30 zones per photograph. If your group contains more than 30 people, consider dividing the photo into two groups or retaking the photos with smaller groups.
